Dog Poop Removal in the Niagara Region

Recurring yard scooping on a set schedule: monthly, every two weeks, weekly or Monday to Friday. Billed monthly.

It’s Thursday evening. The kids want to play in the backyard, you’ve got people coming Saturday, and you know exactly what’s waiting out there. Nobody in the house wants the job. That is the whole reason this service exists. We come on a set schedule, scoop the entire yard, close your gate behind us and send you a photo to prove both.

Dog Duty does recurring dog poop removal across the Niagara Region: weekly, every two weeks, monthly, or Monday to Friday for busy yards. You pick the plan, the price is posted, and you pay one monthly bill.

Signs it’s time to hand off the scooping

Most people don’t sign up because of one bad day. It’s the slow build.

You’re doing yard laps before anyone goes outside

If every trip to the backyard starts with a scan for landmines, the yard isn’t really usable. Kids, guests and the lawn mower all need a clean lawn, not most of one.

The lawn has brown and yellow patches

Dog waste is high in nitrogen. Left on the grass, it burns the roots underneath, turning the spot dark green, then yellow, then brown and dead. Those patches usually need reseeding.

The smell reaches the patio

On a warm, humid Niagara day, a week of buildup is noticeable from the back door. Flies notice it too.

Scooping keeps sliding to “this weekend”

Then the weekend fills up. Then it rains. A schedule fixes this better than willpower does.

Picking a frequency

How often you need us comes down to the number of dogs, the size of the yard and how much the family uses it. Here is how the plans compare for one dog. Prices for two to four dogs are on the pricing page.

  • Monthly ($49/month). One visit a month. Works for a single small dog or a big yard the dog rarely uses.
  • Every two weeks ($69/month). Two visits a month. A middle ground when weekly feels like more than you need.
  • Weekly ($89/month). The plan most yards end up on. Waste never sits long enough to kill the grass or take over the yard.
  • Monday to Friday ($299/month). Five visits a week, for multi-dog homes, small yards or yards that get heavy daily use.

Not sure? Start weekly. It is easy to talk about changing it once you see how the yard looks after a few visits.

If the yard has months of buildup right now, start with a one-time yard cleanup to reset it, then keep it clean on a recurring plan.

How a visit works

  1. You book online. Choose your dogs and frequency on the booking page and the price shows up before you enter anything else.
  2. You tell us about the yard. Which gate to use, any lock or code, your dogs’ names and anything to watch for.
  3. We scoop the whole yard. Corners, along the fence line, behind the shed, under the deck stairs. You don’t need to be home.
  4. We close the gate and take two photos. One of the clean yard, one of your gate shut. Both are sent to your phone.

That second photo matters more than it sounds. A loose dog is the one thing no owner wants to come home to, so we show you the gate is closed every single time.

Why regular pickup matters beyond looks

  • Parasites stay in the soil. Roundworm eggs passed in dog waste can survive in yards for weeks and even years, according to the CDC. Children are most at risk because they play close to the ground. Picking up waste on a schedule keeps it from sitting in the yard.
  • The lawn gets a chance to recover. Removing waste before the nitrogen burns through gives the grass time to fill back in.
  • Fewer flies and less smell. Especially from June through September, when heat and humidity speed everything up.
  • Your dog gets more yard. Many dogs avoid soiled areas, which shrinks the space they will actually use.

What affects the price

Residential pricing is simple on purpose. Two things set your monthly price:

  • Number of dogs. One to four dogs are on the posted grid. Five or more gets a custom quote.
  • Visit frequency. Monthly, every two weeks, weekly or Monday to Friday.

That’s it. No quote visit, no surprise fees on the residential plans. All prices are in Canadian dollars before tax and billed monthly. See every combination on the pricing page.

What a Niagara yard has to account for

Scooping a yard in Niagara is a different job from season to season.

  • Winter hides everything. Snow covers waste from the first real snowfall until the thaw, and then it all appears at once. A spring cleanup handles that once-a-year backlog.
  • Spring thaw means soft, wet ground. Waste presses into soggy lawns in March and April and is harder to lift cleanly. Regular visits keep it from building up during mud season.
  • Humid summers make buildup worse, faster. Waste breaks down and smells sooner in July heat, so weekly service makes the biggest difference in summer.
  • Fenced backyards and side gates are the norm. Most yards we service are reached through a side gate, which is exactly why the closed-gate photo is part of every visit.
  • Shared dog areas. Condos, apartments and townhouse complexes have the same problem at a bigger scale. We handle those through commercial pet waste removal.

We run regular routes through St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Welland, Thorold, Pelham, Niagara-on-the-Lake and Lincoln.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is weekly dog poop pickup?

Weekly service is $89 a month for one dog, $109 for two, $129 for three and $149 for four, before tax. The full grid, including monthly and every-two-weeks plans, is on the pricing page.

Do I need to be home?

No. You tell us which gate to use and any lock or code when you book. After each visit you get a photo of the clean yard and a photo of your closed gate.

How often should my yard be scooped?

Most homes with one or two dogs stay clean with weekly service. Every two weeks or monthly suits a single small dog or a yard the dog uses less. More dogs or a small yard usually needs weekly or more.

What is the difference between every two weeks and monthly?

Every two weeks is two visits a month, starting at $69 for one dog. Monthly is one visit a month, starting at $49. Both are billed once a month.

Who is the Monday to Friday plan for?

Homes where waste builds up fast: several dogs, a small yard, or a yard people use every day. It is five visits a week, starting at $299 a month for one dog.

What if I have five or more dogs?

Five or more dogs gets a custom quote, since the time in the yard changes a lot. Send the details through the contact page or call and we will price it.

Is dog poop bad for my lawn?

Yes. Fresh dog waste is high in nitrogen, which burns the grass underneath and leaves yellow, then brown, dead patches. It also keeps the spot damp, which suits lawn fungus. Regular pickup gives the grass a chance to recover.

Are your prices the same in every town?

Yes. The same monthly prices apply across our service area, from St. Catharines and Niagara Falls to Welland, Thorold, Pelham, Niagara-on-the-Lake and Lincoln. Prices are before tax.
